Enjin Blockchain Kampong Glam Upgrade Completed

The Enjin Ecosystem Celebrates the Successful Kampong Glam Upgrade

The Enjin Blockchain “Kampong Glam” upgrade (Enjin Relaychain v1.3 and Enjin Matrixchain v1.1) was successfully completed last September 10, 2024.

The Enjin Relaychain v1.3 upgrade was implemented in blocks 6,679,471 to 6,679,486 (15:00:06 to 15:01:36 UTC, September 9, 2024). The Enjin Relaychain upgrade was followed by the Enjin Matrixchain v1.1 upgrade, which was implemented in blocks 2,609,694 to 2,612,957 (15:22:48 UTC, September 9, 2024 to 02:16:54 UTC, September 10, 2024). The combined upgrade was completed in approximately 11 hours.

Kampong Glam is Singapore's historic Muslim Quarter, with Arab Street and the gold domed Sultan Mosque. The upgrade features:

Optional infusion of Enjin Coin (ENJ) into Enjin multi-tokens, similar to the ability to mint non-fungible tokens (NFTs) infused with ERC-20 Enjin Coin on Ethereum;
Reduction of costs to issue NFTs of multiple quantity, and streamlining of NFT functions;
Optimization of fuel tank management by developer accounts;
Ability to create offers for NFTs not already listed on the Marketplace pallet; and
Polkadot OpenGov style governance.

The Kampong Glam upgrade was implemented smoothly with no major issues reported.

Various games and other platforms (including the NFT.io marketplace and Enjin Platform) resumed operation after the upgrade. Updated Android and iOS Enjin Wallet versions were released following the upgrade.
