You want plunder. You want fame. So does every other captain on the water.
That's the starting point in Captain & Company, a fantasy pirate MMORPG where you hire a massive multiplayer crew and go hunting for both. Pillage for loot. Trade blows with rival ships in real-time, first-person clashes on the high seas. Build a name feared from one horizon to the next. There's no single path to glory here, just an ocean full of other captains chasing the same prize and you working out how to take more of it than they do.
Earning doubloons, the game's currency for a successful haul, is the easy part. Turning them into a legacy that follows you is where it gets interesting.
Every player can mint an Enjin Pass, a collectible badge that lives on the blockchain, from their profile page at capnco.gg/profile. It doesn't sit still. The Pass carries metadata that updates as you mint Enjin mXP (on-chain points that track your activity), climbing through Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers ranked against every other active player in the game.
Feeding it is simple. Hold an in-game Pirate Pass, earn doubloons out on the water, then mint your mXP back on your profile page. There's no limit on how often you can mint, and word among the crew is that pirates who mint often tend to get noticed by the team behind the game.
All of it is recorded as NFTs on the Enjin blockchain, so your in-game rise becomes a digital identity that levels right alongside you. It lives in your wallet, not on a server you have to hope stays online. (No promises about the fate of any given server, but some of you may have learned that lesson the hard way before.)
The Pass can't be traded or faked. It's earned, and it's yours.
To mark the launch, a prize pool of 100,000 ENJ, provided by Enjin, has been infused into Enjin Pirate Blob NFTs, collectible tokens that carry real value inside them. Winners can keep the Blobs, trade them, or burn them on the spot to redeem the ENJ locked inside.
There are 50 winners. Five are drawn at random from everyone who takes part, with no purchase required to compete. The other 45 come straight off the top of the Piracy leaderboard, ranked by the doubloons you have earned in-game and tracked on your profile page at capnco.gg/profile.
Like everything else in the game's asset layer, the Blob NFTs are built on Enjin, which means they are tradeable, portable, and owned outright rather than licensed.
The C&C team points to Enjin's long commitment to gaming and its audience of real players as the reason they set sail here. This is their first step into Enjin technology, with more to come as they scale up.
