What Are Degens?

Degens are a collection of 10,042 unique, hand-drawn, governance-enabled NFTs with over 135 traits, making each one a distinctive avatar for your journey across the multiverse. These multiverse-traveling misfits are built with personality and packed with power, offering more than just aesthetic appeal.

Degens are not only collectibles — they represent a step forward in Enjin blockchain utility by enabling their holders to actively shape the Enjin ecosystem.

Utility That Matters

Degens redefine what it means to own an NFT. As a Degen holder, you unlock the following functionalities:

1. Create Nomination Pools

Each Degen NFT allows its holder to create a staking nomination pool. Nomination pools are the backbone of governance for Enjin Blockchain - users can use nomination pools to stake Enjin Coin (ENJ) and nominate which validator nodes are elected to produce blocks on the Enjin network. Nomination pools which are successful in electing validator nodes receive staking rewards for that era.

2. Control the Narrative

Take control of your pool. Select which validator nodes will be nominated by your pool, and govern the direction of Enjin Blockchain.

3. Earn Rewards

‍As a Degen pool owner, you earn a commission of up to 10% from your pool’s total rewards.

Variable Pool Sizes

Each Degen NFT comes with a randomly assigned nomination pool size, ranging from 200,000 ENJ to 5M ENJ. While the maximum pool size determines how much ENJ can initially be staked, it doesn’t limit the potential growth of rewards over time.

Holders of Greenbox NFTs and the Enjin Multiverse Founders Token unlock additional benefits - increasing their chance to win a Degen, and a bonus increase to their Degens maximum pool size.

• Enjin MFT: Boosts your ENJ staking power by 4% per MFT held (up to 20% with 5 MFTs), increasing your chances of being selected as a Degen winner in a staking era.

• Greenbox NFT: Increases the maximum pool size capacity of a Degen by 2% per Greenbox held (up to 10% with 5 Greenboxes) at the time the Degen is minted, providing a permanent bonus to that Degen’s capacity.

The Timeline

The release of Degens follows a carefully crafted roadmap:

• December 16, 2024: The start of distribution for the first 500 Degens to Efinity crowdloan participants, with one Degen minted each day, alternating between the top 250 contributors and 250 random contributors.
• January, 2025: Create & manage your nomination pool, or stake ENJ to one, directly from NFT.io.
• February 1, 2025: Start of the distribution of Degen NFTs to accounts actively participating in Enjin governance & staking. Each era, a preset number of Degens will be minted to active stakers, with the chance to win based on the amount of ENJ each account has staked.
• May 15, 2025: Unlock for Degen crafting. Combine multiple Degen NFTs into something truly degenerate.
