Key Highlights

  • “Sentosa” Upgrade Launch: Enjin Blockchain’s Sentosa upgrade rolls out to Canary Testnet on October 27, 2025, with Mainnet deployment planned for December 8, 2025 across both Relaychain and Matrixchain.
  • Major Technical Enhancements: Introduces Coretime integration, Hyperbridge, and asset conversion (DEX) pallets, alongside off-chain workers to automate validator payouts and marketplace cleanup.
  • Improved Efficiency & Governance: Removes nomination pool bonus cycles, reduces pool destruction time, and adds auction bid extensions for a smoother, fairer marketplace experience.
  • Important

Update (December 8, 2025): The Sentosa Mainnet upgrade window has been rescheduled by 24 hours to December 9, 2025 (Relaychain: 16:30 UTC, approx. block 13,243,426, Matrixchain: 16:45 UTC, approx. block 7,732,995) to allow for additional coordination with infrastructure partners. The Enjin Blockchain continues to operate normally and user funds and assets remain safe.

    Dear Enjineers!

As part of our contracted tasks for the Enjin ecosystem, we are pleased to announce the preparation of the codename “Sentosa” Enjin Blockchain upgrade.

    Upgrade Schedule

The changes will initially be deployed to the Canary Testnet, providing developers and users with a controlled environment to interact with the updates and giving developers sufficient time to update their integrations.

    Enjin Relaychain

    • Canary Testnet: October 27, 2025 (approximately 16:00 UTC) at block 13054949.
    • Relaychain Mainnet: December 8, 2025 (approximately 16:30 UTC) at block 13229687 (tentative).

    Enjin Matrixchain

    • Canary Testnet: October 27, 2025 (approximately 16:00 UTC) at block 8215650.
    • Matrixchain Mainnet: December 8, 2025 (approximately 16:30 UTC) at block 7734855 (tentative).

During the upgrade process, the chain may reject extrinsics. Users are advised to wait for the upgrade to complete before attempting to submit new extrinsics.

    Summary

    • Coretime integration on Relaychain.
    • Introduction of Hyperbridge and asset conversion (dex) pallets.
    • Removal of nomination pool bonus cycles.
    • Introduction of off-chain workers to handle period tasks such as validator payout and clearing expired marketplace listings.
    • Auction bid extension.
    • See full changelog below.

    Full Changes

    Enjin Relaychain 1.6.0

    • Transition to coretime.
    • Remove nomination pool bonus cycle. Any accrued rewards stored in bonus accounts of existing pools will be immediately released to pool reward account. No action required from pool operators.
    • Reduce time required to destroy a pool from 56 days to 28 days.
    • Add offchain worker to payout validator staking rewards.
    • Handle dust when buying stake exchange offers.
    • Prevent listing of Degens in destroying pools on marketplace pallet.
    • Remove UnbondingMembers storage when empty in nomination pools.
    • Fail when unbonding with zero balance.
