HapiFam, a Malaysia-based provider of food and baby products, has found an innovative way to use QR codes and blockchain technology to engage their customers and reward them for their loyalty. They partnered with Enjin Beam to create a QR-based loyalty program that allows customers to earn rewards by scanning QR codes on HapiFam products.
These rewards come in the form of digital collectibles, which can be stored securely on their digital wallet and traded or sold on a decentralized marketplace.

HapiFam has started using Beam to package scratch cards with its products, particularly HapiHeros Natural Baby Cereal. Each scratch card has a QR code that, when scanned, beams a special non-fungible token (NFT) into the customer's digital wallet.
And it's not just any NFT – it's a HapiHero, one of four different characters inspired by the elements of fire (Feugo), water (Hydro), earth (Rocky) and air (Bolt). There are a limited number of each character, so customers have a chance to collect them all.
To make the experience even more fun, each HapiHero has its own superpower, personality, and dream. They're also a constant reminder of HapiFam's commitment to healthy living and environmental sustainability, which has made the company a hit with families in Malaysia.
This is a great use of blockchain technology, as it combines the physical and digital worlds in a fun and interactive way.
In an interview with Enjin, Tze-Co Gwei, CEO, AstraBaby (HapiFam's parent company) said that they are releasing 4,000 HapiNFTs for this promotion.
And it's not just a gimmick—the NFTs that are beamed into the wallet are actually quite valuable, as they can be used to unlock special content and rewards on the HapiFam website. The NFTs can even be sold for a secondary sale on the Enjin Jumpnet marketplace.
For example, one HapiNFT can be exchanged for a free HapiHeros Natural Baby Cereal. And if a customer collects all four HapiNFTs, they'll unlock a whole host of rewards, including a three-month supply of HapiFam products and a chance to win more prizes in the future.
With the help of Enjin Beam, HapiFam is turning its customers into fans, and its products into collector's items – minus all the fuss and hassle of traditional loyalty programs and complicated crypto onboarding platforms.
"The reason we use Enjin is it is the easiest platform for a non-crypto person to use," Tze-Co said.
According to him, Enjin is a great way to introduce NFTs to customers who are otherwise not familiar or do not have enough crypto knowledge. They do not need to buy or trade crypto on more advanced platforms to be able to use NFTs, simply using the QR code to beam the NFT to their digital wallet.
The launch of the HapiHeros NFT First Generation is just the first step for AstraBaby.
Within the next year, the company aims to work with Enjin and launch several more blockchain-based products and services such as a HapiVerse rewards platform, a decentralized autonomous organization (HapiDAO) and more.
