Oscar Franklin Tan, CPA, CFA, spoke at the Asian Legal Business (“ALB”) South East Asia In-House Legal Summit 2026, held on May 20 at Hilton Singapore Orchard. Oscar is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Legal Officer of Atlas Development Services Pte. Ltd., a core contributor to Enjin Blockchain.
He joined senior legal chiefs Glenn Seah of Singapore Exchange, Samuel Huen of Bank of Singapore, and Doris Chen of dsm-firmenich for a panel on the changing role of legal teams in business and strategic decision-making.
The panel touched on lawyers joining business and product meetings and wearing multiple hats as a matter of course, how a head hires and manages legal careers in a cross-border organization, and AI integration for teams that are “lean and mean” relative to the size of their companies. Oscar cited how his team uses AI to avoid hundreds of thousands of dollars in niche software and documentation costs.
The summit is a leading mainstream conference for senior in-house legal and compliance leaders across Asia, organized by ALB and Thomson Reuters. Oscar is a finalist for Fintech Lawyer of the Year and the team is a finalist for Blockchain In-House Team of the Year in the ALB South East Asia Law Awards 2026.
