Starstone Brings Its High-Fantasy Card Game to Enjin

The Starstone has crashed into Earth, and the Devourant are coming to consume it. Some of the creatures ready to defend it are already sitting in Enjin Wallets.

Starstone is a high-fantasy trading card game from Starstone Studios, built on a mining and evolution mechanic. It’s now live on Enjin: supported NFTs already unlock gifts and companions in its world, and more on-chain features are on the way.

Fight or Mine

In many card games, resources arrive with the draw, so a bad opening hand can decide a match. Starstone moves them to the Mine: any creature can attack, or dig up the resources your strategy runs on. That choice replaces the mulligan and the dead resource hand.

Gather elemental Shards to evolve your creatures, set traps, and build around equipment synergies. Every card has a job in its deck type and evolution line. Climb the ranked ladder to earn better cards, and hunt the Mythical and Legendary creatures hidden in biomes across the universe.

Two Ways to Play

Starstone runs in two places, each with its own focus. The web version at starstone.game is where Starstone connects to Enjin, and where your NFTs come into play. It also adds mini games, points, and a leaderboard.

The card game on its own is on Steam, free to play in Early Access, with ranked matchmaking and cross-platform multiplayer.

Your NFTs in Starstone

Link an Enjin Wallet at starstone.game, and an NPC called the Waystation checks it for supported collections, starting with Enjin’s own Blobs and Multiverse NFTs. The check is read-only, so your NFTs stay in your wallet and aren’t locked.

Each supported NFT unlocks in-game gifts, and some bring a creature companion you can name, feed, level up, and take into battle. Gifts stay with the NFT: sell it, and they switch off for you while the new holder can claim them.

The team took the idea from Monster Rancher 2, where any CD in your PlayStation could summon a monster. Here, the NFT plays the part of the disc.

What’s Coming

A creature-battling RPG set in the same world is on the way, with more than 550 items to find, a combat arena, PvE, and raid bosses.

The Mint will let players turn creatures, combat equipment, and items into NFTs on the Enjin Blockchain and trade them. The team plans to make that trading the core of Starstone’s economy. Collectors will also be able to gather NFT segments that combine into full NFTs.

The team rules out pay-to-win: spending mostly buys cosmetics, nobody can buy in-game currency, and matchmaking keeps players within their own tier.

The Steam version keeps growing too, with a Roguelike Adventure Mode and new cards, modes, and challenges each season.

Built on the Gaming Chain

Enjin runs through Starstone’s plans, from the NFTs players already hold to the creatures and items they’ll mint next. The team wants existing collections to have a job in the game, starting with ones the Enjin community has collected for years.

Asked why it chose Enjin, Starstone turned the question around:
“It’s harder to answer than why wouldn’t [Starstone] choose Enjin, the gaming chain!”
