"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single dungeon in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of an adventurer."
Lost Relics is the Web3 gaming pioneer.
First released on the Enjin Platform in May 2019, the game has constantly released new content for existing and new players alike, delighting its gamers and fans worldwide.
You start in the small town of Talmuth, which may look peaceful and serene on the surface. However, once you take a few steps below ground, you're cast into a dimly lit world of dungeons, caves, and catacombs.
Lost Relics is a hack-and-slash dungeon crawler filled with dangerous beasts, monsters, and ghouls. You enter this single-player game as the hero to the trembling townsfolk. And in reward for your troubles, you obtain non-fungible token (NFT) artifacts that have been hidden for a long time.
There's more to Lost Relics than grabbing highly-prized loot and slashing anything that moves.
Instead of a class system or skill trees, Lost Relics uses your equipment to alter your abilities and stats. Players can choose from a range of Common to Transcendent item classes and from Virtuals to Collectibles.
The higher the class of items, the more powerful the effects. Meanwhile, Collectibles refer to crypto-based items you can carry into battle, assured you will not lose them when your character dies.
The game features a permadeath mechanic where you lose all your Virtual equipped items upon player death. If you fall during your run, you'll lose everything, so don't bite off more than you can chew. This challenging element adds a twist of strategy for each player.
Codebit Labs, the gaming studio behind Lost Relics, has been working hard to deliver new gameplay to keep players hooked.
Mystic Maelstrom, released in July 2024, delivers a stream of new content, such as magic weapons that cast powerful projectiles, unleashing devastating attacks with splash damage. Furthermore, new game modes like Descending Nightmares and Terror Descent challenge players for hours with infinity dungeons.
Descending Nightmares, found in Inverden (for players level 40 and up), and Terror Descent, found in Talmuth and available to all players, demand players to choose between taking their spoils of victory or continuing deeper for greater rewards. You'll have to balance your inventory in the dungeons, as you can spend tons of energy inside. The only way out of the dungeon is by clearing it, but good luck with that with the bosses at the end of each map.
Arcanor's Rift, unleashed in August 2024, introduces a rift that speeds up your trip to Inverdhen (the second town). The game patch also unlocked full support for all 16-Enjin Multiverse NFTs. These NFTs, are powerful blockchain items available to newer players.
While Lost Relics is a crypto game, it's an action-adventure game at its core. New players may engage in gameplay without any blockchain knowledge. You simply have to download the game and create an account using traditional signup methods such as email or Discord.
Once inside the game and hours after immersive gameplay, you can decide whether or not to create and link your Enjin Matrixchain address using the Enjin Wallet app. The process takes seconds and involves the simple scan of a QR code using the Enjin Wallet app.
Using a non-custodial wallet allows you to deposit and withdraw ENJ coin which can be used to purchase items in-game. More importantly, linking a wallet opens opportunities for Multiverse Quests.
Specific Enjin Multiverse Collection tokens will hold utility and power within Lost Relics and through the Enjin game ecosystem.
