Samsung & Enjin Bring ERC-20 and ERC-1155 to Keystore

In March 2019, Enjin and Samsung confirmed their partnership, with Enjin becoming the first wallet partner to gain access to Samsung Knox, a powerful feature of the Galaxy 10 and beyond that allows users to secure their private keys in an encrypted hardware keystore.

This collaboration fostered a deep integration of ideas and technologies between the two innovative technology providers.

During Samsung's Mobile Business Development Summit in 2019, the tech giant discussed the potential applications of Samsung Knox, across various sectors; including tipping, mobile payments, retail, and finance.

The integration of blockchain technology in these areas promised to revolutionize the way we interact and transact in our daily lives.

On March 8, 2019, the Samsung Galaxy S10 was released, and with it, Samsung Knox went live. Notably, the Enjin Wallet was the only wallet app to feature full integration with Samsung Knox at the time, highlighting Enjin's pioneering role in the realm of blockchain-based gaming and digital asset management.

Soon after the release of the Samsung Galaxy S10, it was confirmed that the smartphone had integrated Enjin's ERC-1155 token standard and it was now available for app developers to adopt via the Samsung Blockchain SDK

This announcement was a significant milestone for the NFT industry and contributed to the popularization and adoption of the ERC-1155 standard on Ethereum.

An excerpt from Galaxy 10's pre-release information deck.

As a result, developers working on Samsung phones could directly access ERC-1155 NFTs using Samsung's API, streamlining the process of creating and managing digital assets within gaming and other applications.

This collaboration between Enjin and Samsung not only propelled the ERC-1155 token standard into the limelight but also underscored the importance of blockchain technology and NFTs in shaping the future of the gaming industry and beyond.

With the continued support and integration of blockchain technology in major smartphone brands like Samsung, the possibilities for innovation and transformation within the digital landscape are truly limitless.
