The Enjin Blockchain “Kampong Glam” upgrade (Enjin Relaychain v1.3 and Enjin Matrixchain v1.1) will take place at Enjin Relaychain block height 6,678,271 (approx. September 9, 2024, 13:00 UTC), then subsequently within Enjin Matrixchain block height 2,609,017 to 2,609,067 (within approx. 10 minutes). Kampong Glam is Singapore's historic Muslim Quarter, with Arab Street and the gold domed Sultan Mosque.

The Kampong Glam upgrade will feature:

• Optional infusion of Enjin Coin (ENJ) into Enjin multi-tokens, similar to the ability to mint non-fungible tokens (NFTs) infused with ERC-20 Enjin Coin on Ethereum;
• Reduction of costs to issue NFTs of multiple quantity, and streamlining of NFT functions;
• Optimization of fuel tank management by developer accounts;
• Ability to create offers for NFTs not already listed on the Marketplace pallet; and
• Polkadot OpenGov style governance.

The Kampong Glam upgrade features changes to the Enjin Blockchain Multi-Tokens, Fuel Tanks and Marketplace pallets, among others.

Maintenance Window

Enjin Blockchain is scheduled for maintenance in preparation for the Kampong Glam runtime upgrade.

End: September 10, 2024, 08:00 UTC

During the maintenance window, Enjin Blockchain will be in a read-only state, and no new transactions will be accepted or processed by the chain. Any service or product using Enjin Blockchain will not be able to submit new transactions.

Any extrinsics (or calls to an Enjin Blockchain pallet) created during the downtime will be queued and ingested by the chain once the upgrade is complete. It is recommended users do not attempt to create extrinsics during the downtime, and submit their transactions once the upgrade process is complete.

It is recommended to suspend such services or products using Enjin Blockchain for a slightly longer window:

Node and Other Upgrades

Nodes. It is recommended that node operators update their node clients to the latest released version in order to be compatible with the new runtime, as outdated versions will be incompatible.

Enjin Platform. Beyond Enjin Blockchain, it is recommended that developers using Enjin Platform upgrade their platform version to 1.9.0, currently compatible with Canary runtimes. This version will remain compatible until the Kampong Glam upgrade is complete. Post-upgrade, the Enjin Platform will transition to v2.0.0, and previous version will no longer be compatible with Enjin Blockchain mainnet runtimes. This update will affect all Platform packages, except Beam.
