Read about the Enjin Iggy NFT collection and how it maximizes Enjin’s easy-to-use NFT creation tools.

To end September, the Enjin Iggy NFT collection treated its collectors to a sleek, customized NFT minting website powered by Enjin Blockchain.

Esteemed collectors from Enjin contributors, such as Witek Radomski and Oscar Franklin Tan, to independent game studios like Kepithor and SamtheBay, fully supported the NFT project.

The Enjin Ecosystem celebrated the collection!

Dive into the blog to learn more about this captivating NFT project.

What in the World is an “Iggy?”

The Legacy Enjin Iggy (left) features generative AI designs, while the new Enjin Iggy (right) is hand-drawn.

If you’ve recently scrolled through your X timeline, you’ve probably seen pictures of adorable Italian greyhounds. These canines, collectively called Iggys, stand out with their big eyes and wacky accessories.

The Enjin Iggy NFTs are inspired by the NFT creator's adopted real-life dog.

There are two main NFT collections: the Legacy Enjin Iggy (a free airdrop) and the new flagship project Enjin Iggy.

The Iggys were minted on NFT.io, Enjin’s global NFT marketplace, using the platform’s no-code solution where users upload designs and images and craft text descriptions. Creators spend most of their time on more important things - design, marketing, and community building.

The platform made the process incredibly easy, with features like rarities and filters for attributes. It's a user-friendly process that anyone can follow!

The Legacy NFT Airdrop via Enjin Beam

The creator ideated the Legacy Iggys as a proof-of-concept to test a new type of profile picture (PFP) art. This would mark the start of a creative journey. Then, in April 2024, the Legacy Enjin Iggys air dropped on X via Beam, Enjin’s QR code-based mass distribution tool for digital assets.

I used Beam QR Codes to airdrop Iggys to the community, making it a unique and easy distribution method in the Web3 gaming world.

Anyone with the Enjin Wallet mobile app could scan and claim the NFTs, even without any Enjin Coin in his or her wallet. This free mint via Beam made the Legacy Enjin Iggys accessible to virtually anyone.

The public response exceeded his expectations, and people immediately used the PFPs on X

Upgrading to the New Enjin Iggy

With a small community forming over the Legacy Iggys, the creator responded with an upgraded PFP collection. The new Enjin Iggys featured more consistent art, dynamic traits, and a customized minting website.

Enjin Iggy’s creator single-handedly coded the minting website and integrated it with the Enjin Platform, enabling his app to communicate with the Enjin Blockchain. This feat was fantastic for a non-blockchain developer and similarly speaks to Enjin’s developer-friendly tools.

The website enabled holders of the Legacy Iggys and collaborations, such as ENJ Beam Club and WeHop, to get discounted mints. At the end of the mint process, the Iggys’ designs were revealed instantly to the collectors.

Debating Traits and Rarities Online

Top Row - Plain floor Iggys, Bottom Row - Etherscape Armor Iggys.

A day after the successful sale, the community buzzed and debated on social media about desirable traits. NFT.io automatically ranks the Enjin Iggy collection based on a rarity algorithm, but collectors act differently from these scores.

For instance, there is a sharp contrast between the plain Iggys and the more distinctive Iggys. The Etherscape Armor Iggy trait floor is 13x the floor price, even though both a floor and Etherscape Armor Iggy have identical rarity scores.

For the more curious, the rarest Iggy has a Demonic Angel Halo and Wings and is listed at 50K ENJ. It will be interesting to see how collectors use the NFT.io Offer feature to negotiate the price on the rarest Iggy.

What’s Next for Enjin Iggy

Enjin Iggy has been building utility for the NFT collection. In May, he released a Telegram bot that sends live listing and sales data from NFT.io. Holders of Enjin Iggy can enter the Telegram channel and jump straight to NFT.io by clicking the sale link.

Player-class picture with Iggy pets in Etherscape

In Etherscape, the new collection provides players with a pet dog, giving them a 5% experience boost. This follows the patented Enjin Brand Collab NFTs, which empowers game developers and individual NFT creators to infuse utility into a collection.

Stay on the lookout for more updates and utilities!

About the Creator

Enjin Iggy’s creator, like many Enjineers, works full-time outside of Web3.

He is a "Man of the Renaissance," always exploring new interests, from coding and crypto to art, cycling, and cooking pizza in an Ooni oven.

His journey into Web3 was driven by his love for tech, with NFTs and gaming being a natural fit for his diverse interests. He discovered Enjin in 2017 and fell in love with the platform’s potential to combine gaming and blockchain. He is a true Enjin OG.

He has actively participated in the Enjin Ecosystem by creating Enjin Beam NFTs and playing Enjin-powered games such as Lost Relics. Currently, he is one of the top-rankers in the Arena of Etherscape.
